the ubin boys

The unbearable smell of petrol greeted us as we made our way to the boat, alongside with six other strangers. As the engine started, the smell seemed to disintegrate into the sweet air, something I'd not experienced in a long time. The trail of bubbles followed behind, and we set foot on the small island called Pulau Ubin within moments. The Welcome sign, the same stretch of jetty, the same bicycle shops, brought back nostalgic memories about this island years back. After getting the two-wheels, all of us, enthusiastically, moved our muscles and began the expedition. As usual, the black agents from earth came to assault us in the most subtle way, leaving red spots behind as evidence. Upslopes and downslopes, they never change. The speed of degradation was however, apparent. What we used to see as flora and fauna had all turned into a dull green of probably dead, if not, half-alive leaves.

Stray dogs still roam the streets at the entrance and some even caught on tape, committing indecent activities that amazed all of us. A hilarious yet painful sight it was, because we all perceived the manhood to be stuck inside the haven of the other canine. Moments later we witnessed an orgy by the same group of strays. What an amazing community.

As the hour hand went down the number 4, we returned our bicycles and waited for the boat back to Changi Village. Once again, the ferry ride. The journey back felt exceptionally long, while the five of us sat at the back of the boat, reminiscing, sleeping and staring into the waves caused by the rotaing blades.

Sometimes I think civilization is a scary thing, like a mathematics equation. Add in the buildings, subtract the trees, multiply population and divide the power. Will the future be as potrayed in Appleseed or Vexille? I really hope not.

yes, they were into it.

orgy alert!

The Number 35

Situation.

Borrowed a dvd from school's library two days ago.
Returned it today, found out I've been "debarred" from borrowing.
So I approached the librarian.
She said I have an outstanding fine of $35.

I know. I had the same expression as you at that moment.
Naturally, I wanted to know why.
She said I borrowed a dvd and didn't return it.
I just did, didn't I?

Then she said I'm supposed to return the dvd within four hours.
omgwtf. Isn't the borrowing period 14days as stated on the paper?

Another fella came and wanted to proved that they do have something about the 4hour policy.
So he went to the machine.. went everywhere in the room, and even looked into the rubbish bin.
Couldn't find anything, so he pointed to the paper pasted on the sides of the rack and said 14days is only for Video(Lifestyle). What I borrowed was a feature film.

Fuck. There isn't anything in that room that says feature films can only be borrowed for 4hours. Then he proceeded to tell me about the 4hour limit printed on the receipt.
note* he couldn't find any receipt to justify his statement*, although I think it should be written on it.
Fine. I've exceeded the four hour limit, so why $35?
The lady says in a very not-surprised manner, it's 50cents for the first hour and $1 for subsequent hours.

I borrowed for a day/+. So naturally my fine would accrue to $35.
Tell me, which library in the WORLD fines people by an absurd and hourly rate?!?

For that 6yearold/- movie I forgot to return, I got charged $35.
How ridiculous can this be.

Fuck.

Will Smith once said, "The key to life, is running and reading."

In Singapore, the key to life, is looks and money.

agoodbook is more fun than apsp

I feel happy, yet guilty.

Started this book called "The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People" yesterday and I can't stop reading. Everything inside makes sense, and for some reasons I feel happier, the world became lighter, and my perception towards things changed. I seemed to have distanced myself away from a land called anger and began finding myself in a calmer state of mind.

"Between stimulus and response, man has the freedom to choose."

This definitely sparked something in me. The freedom to choose, the freedom to decide. Why haven't I thought of that before? It's easy to tell another person to look at things at a different angle, but it requires a person to go through a certain strings of events before realizing the underlying meaning of "a different perspective".

ok, that made me become happier. So what made me guilty?
I'm reading this book instead of revising for exams.
Arg, just can't wait to finish the book.

dontyougetit

Mr.png went for his virgin facial treatment today. On the bed, he was still, with his fist clenching. The whole session was like an excavation, with the lady using her sharp tools to pick out the dirty stuffs underneath. It lasted for almost two hours, now the face is full of red, and the smell of the centre lingers on the poor visage.

The new class had this weird atmosphere.
Dam sad.

I was sitting beside my dad, intriguingly watching him as he starts the engine. Then I had the impulse to take over the wheel but could only stay beside and see him on the road. While mimicking his actions as he drove, I started pondering about the feeling getting a p-plate. I just can't wait to drive.

Caught four movies today, three at home, one in cinema. Watched Hancock, Meet Dave and Never Back Down. Meet Dave is crap, watch only for Eddie Murphy's acting, his rendition is perfect. Hancock had a pretty special plot and all, but Never Back Down's still my best pick. Money no enough2 at tampines. Never watch this kind of shows with your parents, feels damn awkward. Funny as it was, the cliche singapore story failed to amaze me. Still, a good local film *scolding government* again.

Exam is one week away. Why am I so relaxed?

Woke up early in the morning, attended the Citi Forex Challenge, which I thought was pretty fun. Made some money at first, started to lose in the middle and ended the game losing even more lol. This was a hundred times more fun than the stock challenge btw. Lunch provided was great and the whole session was interesting. Even the CEO of sg citi came down to grace the event. How cool.

Caught The Mummy with Bryan after the event. One word, cliche. Plus! English people speaking mandarin is totally weird, I urge all directors to stick to one langauge, lol. People started laughing when alex spoke some mandarin. Damn weird, really.

So now I'm waiting for the clock to strike 8 before I start to prepare for zouk. Haven't clubbed in a week, I need more of such activities to make me feel alive. Hiphop2 starting next week, I can't wait! Muahhaha, and ehhh, what's wrong with me wearing sweat pants?! lol

*ladies from citibank = hooooot*
