dance, soul, and everything nice

Thursday marked the influx of dance activities in the may of June. Hanai's class was super duper awesome. With just two moves and minimal locking, he has shown the essence of locking through soul dance. My concept of locking has changed totally. Locking is no longer about how well you can twirl or how many power moves you can do, it's about enjoying the music and creating moves that make sense in the dance itself. The lesson was quite brief due to the time but everyone enjoyed it alot. AND AND AND Hanai's a very nice person! hahaha.

#edit: KO Night finals ended, good good dancing everyone.

First activity this morning was the mass workshop, whereby many would be gathered in a hall to learn 3 different dance styles, namely hiphop, house and waacking. Woke up at 6+ before heading for town for breakfast. At the strike of 9, everyone started to come in one by one, grooving to the music played in the background. First time learning waacking and house, and it turned out well. House was very very fun! Especially when you have an instructor who's damn cheeky and playful. Ta-ke is such a funny guy. He kinda reminds me of one Japanese actor. Anan's hiphop segment was tough when it was nearing to the end of the routine. Crazy legs movement I tell ya. She's still as cute as ever. Wahaha. Lee's waacking segment was damn fun too, first time learning and wow, so many techniques in a simple single move. The 5hour workshop ended off with a hiphop segment by Bon. Extremely extremely good instructor and I seemed to catch his style pretty fast, which was a good thing. He has this I-am-an-angry-man face, but he's actually a very nice guy! He repeats his routine from the beginning everytime! This way you won't have to worry about forgetting the steps. What an awesome way to teach.

Headed for lunch at Aston's after the workshop and everyone was lethargic as hell. 5 hours of continuous dancing is no kidding I tell ya. I'm looking forward to TBG, which is just hours away! Wahaha, hope to get good seats tomorrow.

on a side note, I was looking through frontallabs and saw someone selling off his SL1. So I pm-ed him and was supposed to meet him tomorrow in town. But just now! He just told me that he traded it off with something else. Dammit. There goes my dvs.

I'll end off this post with my two favourite photos of the week :D

Bon-san's the one in white!

and say hello to my favourite instructor of all time :D

peace out.

minimalistic

Bad bad weixiang. You have finally started your journey to becoming a bedroom dj. Amazon is now your second home for records and you just checked out a S$170 cart holding 6 precious and classic break records. Please hope for an early arrival of mint vinyls that are going to be in your collection for the rest of your life. Kindly get your pair of decks shortly after your vinyl arrives cause you need at least something to scratch to. Do make sure to get a table/bookshelf or something else to hold the fragile equipments and please make space for them in your room. Thank you very much.

i need a stage name

I believed the fourth toe on my left foot has suffered some injuries.
I can't do leo walk and knee drop properly.

anyway the security at the esplanade stopped us from dancing at the sky terrace today. zammit.
and scratching straight for two and a half hours was really tiring. After the practice and locking class, I was totally drained.

My pay is coming soon. HEHEHE
and dam. I need a stage name. lol

this sucks

SOMETHING BAD HAS HAPPENED.
A MISFORTUNE HAS FALLEN ONTO ME.

my ep630 has been totaled.
right channel is gone.
and I cannot, I repeat, I cannot survive with ipod stock earphones.
so I have decided to just leave my player at home.
just to avoid the torturous and ear-bleeding moments
stock earphones bring about.

edit:/ my ear bled profusely on my way to work.

movie after movie

First time having a movie marathon, and it was quite an impromptu decision. Drag Me to Hell was very very scary. I repeat, very very scary, with a lil tinge of humor though. Night at the Museum 2 was alright, new additions to the pocketful of exhibits, personal favourite being the three singing cupids. One of them could beatbox as well lol. Last movie was Dance! Subaru. Very inspiring and melancholic. People dying here and there, but nice show anyway. Lead actress damn hot btw.

Sis thought I was on drugs after seeing the injury on my right hand during the night at cg's chalet, and mom gave me the did-you-inject-yourself-with-those-drugs face. wth.

Random - I am getting my decks soon! very soon! Still contemplating between the straight and curved arm though. =\

when it's going down, it's going down

Some domestic affairs going on recently. Dad decided to retire soon, so two of us gotta fork out some money for both mom & dad. Mom isn't exactly in the pink of health and takes medication. I'm going into army in 3 months time and sis spends more and more every year. Worst part is we still have more than ten years to pay off the flat, with every month amounting to almost $500. Utilities, phone bill, bla bla bla... everything has to be accounted for. Dad also told me about how "not-musically-inclined" I am. He says everything I'm doing is a waste of time.

Piang. How to survive like that.
